What sets us apart?
- Our products are handcrafted with the utmost integrity and care. We do not employ gimmicks, nor do we make sensational claims in order to sell our products.
- Our mission is to offer the cleanest possible skincare to those who seek products without synthetic (and often toxic, hormone-disrupting) ingredients and artificial fragrances.
- Although we believe that nature offers profoundly healing solutions to our needs, we will never claim that our products would heal or cure anything. We encourage you to do your own research, get to know and understand what exactly goes on your skin and how it might be impacting your wellbeing, now or in the future. What we proudly offer is alternatives to the less savoury concoctions.
- Everything we offer is handmade in very small batches.
- We don't take shortcuts. To make tallow balms, we render 100% grass-fed beef suet ourselves (this process takes 3-4 days to complete). To make herbal salves, we infuse hand-harvested, air dried flowers, leaves, and roots of medicinal plants into oils for many weeks to ensure potency and to follow the natural flow of things. All this makes Baba Yaga's Potions more of a passion project than a business venture.
- As much as possible, we use local ingredients, including grass-fed and finished suet for our tallow balms, plants for our herbal salves and lip balms, and beeswax (which comes from a beautiful permaculture farm just a few minutes from us).
- We strive to source certified organic or, at the very least, non-GMO oils for our plant-based face care.
- Many of our products come without any added scent, but those that are scented, smell amazing thanks to the best quality pure essential oils and not synthetic fragrances.
- Everything we offer to you, we use ourselves.
