Our Super Salve is a harmonious blend of locally grown dandelion flowers, chamomile flowers, and burdock root, all infused in deeply moisturizing avocado oil. To enhance the skin-restorative properties of the above plants, we added unrefined, cold-pressed tamanu oil - it is known for healing dry skin and may even reduce the appearance of scars. Unrefined tamanu oil has a natural smoky, earthy scent. No essential oils are added to this salve.

We use it for eczema, dry or itchy skin, small cuts, skin irritation or redness.

Ingredients

Avocado oil, Taraxacum officinale (dandelion) flowers*, Matricaria chamomilla (chamomile) flowers*, Arctium lappa (burdock) root*, virgin tamanu oil, local Canadian beeswax.

How to Use

Apply the salve as needed. Scoop it out of the container using clean dry hands or a small spatula.

We like to use this salve before bedtime for dry skin or as needed for small cuts, etc. It is quite greasy. If applying to your hands, you can use moisturizing cotton gloves which can be purchased at your local health store or online. Similarly, old pajamas/socks, etc. can be worn if the salve is applied elsewhere.

Patch test on a small area to ensure that there is no allergic reaction.

How to Store Your Salve

  • Because we do not use preservatives in our salves, care must be taken to avoid introducing any moisture into the product. To extend shelf life and avoid contamination, use clean and dry hands or a small spatula to scoop the product from the jar.
  • We recommend storing the product away from heat or direct sunlight to prevent melting. In case it melts, simply let it solidify again at room temperature.

Stored at room temperature, our salves will keep for a year or longer.
